Hi, it's Risa Toyama, co-producer of the short film, "The Interpreter," to be shot in Tokyo at the beginning of August.
We are now looking for a Caucasian man who looks between 25 and 35 for one of the three main characters of the film.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
We are looking to cast actors that are Tokyo-based (or willing to travel - production won't be able to pay for airfare and accommodations). Since the director is now in California, we will accept audition video clips via email. In your initial email (before sending audition clips), please send your most recent head and body shots and list of previous acting work. If chosen, we will email you a part of the script to use for your audition clip.

BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
The Interpreter is about an unexpected love found between Hiromi, a young Japanese college girl looking for (foreign) love online and Kaito, a Japanese American exchange student working as an interpreter in Tokyo. Jacob, an American tourist in Tokyo, hires Kaito to be his interpreter during his first date with Hiromi, the girl Jacob met online. The more he sees Hiromi, the more Kaito falls for her. And the more he gets to know Jacob, the more Kaito wants to protect Hiromi from him. Until one night, a seemingly innocent night-out turns into a dark and unfortunate event for Kaito, Hiromi, and Jacob.
CHARACTER BIOS:

Jacob travels to Japan with one goal in mind: to meet Japanese girls. He seems to be an easygoing guy who loves to have fun. Little did we know that Jacob is hiding a deep dark secret that nobody knew until Kaito and Hiromi come into the picture.
